본 연구는 첨단의료복합단지 지정 후 많은 투자가 이루어진 대구지역 의료산업의 성장역량을 분석하였다. 의약품 및 의료기기 업체의 수는 증가하고 있으나, 전국 비중에서는 여전히 낮은 수준이며, 다수의 기업들이 영세한 것으로 나타나고 있다. 다양한 연구개발기관 및 기업지원기관들이 있으나, 기관들이 기업들의 수요에 대한 대응과 지역자원의 중개‧연계 등에서 효과적인 기능을 수행하고 있지 않은 것으로 지적되고 있다. 국가연구개발사업과 특허등록도 양적인 측면에서는 확대되고 있으나, 질적인 측면에서 기업들의 수요와 관련이 있는 사업화나 상용화에 대한 관심은 상대적으로 낮은 것으로 나타나고 있다. 협력활동과 관련해서는 협력을 위한 기반과 여건은 개선되고 있으나, 정부과제 중심의 활동, 정보부족, 네트워킹 활동에 대한 정책지원 미흡 및 신뢰 부족 등으로 협력 활동을 활성화시키는 데에도 다소의 어려움이 있는 것으로 나타나고 있다. 마지막으로 지방자치단체 정책과 관련해서는 기술이전과 창업지원 등에 대한 투자 미흡, 국가사업 의존에 따라 지역 수요를 충족시킬 수 있는 사업의 부족 등이 문제점으로 나타나고 있다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해서는 벤처기업 창업 활성화 방안, 지식 네트워킹 활성화, 정보의 집적 및 자원의 연계 강화, 기술개발 결과물의 상용화 및 기업 수요 충족형 사업 확대 등이 필요할 것으로 보인다.
Abstract
This study analyzed the growth capabilities of the medical industry in Daegu, where a lot of investment was made after designating the high-tech medical complex. Although the number of pharmaceutical and medical device companies is increasing, it is still low in the national proportion, and many companies appear to be small. There are various R&D institutes and corporate support institutes, but it is pointed out that the institutes are not performing effective functions in responding to the needs of companies and linking local resources. National R&D projects and patent registrations are also expanding, but interests in commercialization or commercialization are shown to be relatively low. Regarding cooperative activities, the conditions for cooperation are improving, but there are some difficulties in activating cooperative activities due to government task-oriented activities, lack of information, lack of policy support for networking activities, and lack of trust. Lastly, with regard to local government policies, there are problems such as insufficient investment in technology transfer and start-up support, and a lack of projects that can meet regional demands depending on a national project dependency. In order to solve these problems, it is expected that a plan to revitalize venture business startups, revitalize knowledge networking, strengthen information accumulation and resource linkage, commercialize technology development results, and expand businesses that meet corporate demand.
