Abstract

As traffic congestion is growing in severity, swift and safe railways are receiving attention as a means of saving time and expenses The transportation capability of the railway is virtually unaffected by weather conditions, and its as well as the construction of its automated systems rival the superiority of aircraft. These transformations provide us with convenience, but because small errors can lead to serious accidents, accident prevention is of the utmost import. Furthermore, due to the development of new materials and IoT-based upgrades, accidents have been occurring with new complex factors; therefore, a safety management system must be developed in tandem with technical developments. Recent cases show that accidents occur more frequently due to human error than technical defects, and the scale of damage has increased even though the causes of accidents have not changed. Accordingly, the present study analyzes the human errors that cause railway accidents with the intent of developing a safety management system that prevents similar accidents.
