This paper aims to study the story of the Widow s gift to the Temple(Mark12:41-4) from Mark s perspective. The story is traditionally believed to bea beautiful story of devotion by a poor widow. The idea that the widow smites is a praise from Jesus, however, has been challenged by A. G. Wright. He believes that this is not an opportunity to praise the widow for heroffering, giving all that she has, but a chance to lament the injustice thatcreates the condition for the social exploitation caused by the religiouscorruption. This article is an attempt to strengthen his view by delving onthe concept of the heavenly temple, the replacement of the old temple bythe new temple Jesus who forgives sin without any offering to the temple.
