이 글은 조선농민사의 기관지인『농민』에 수록된 생활시에 대한 연구이다. 이 글에서『농민』에 주목하게 된 이유는 생활과 노동의 주체가 바로 시 창작과 향유의 주체가 되고 있다는 점 때문이다. 한국문학에서 민중들의 생활은 늘 엘리트들의 목소리로 재구성되어 그들을 형상화한 문학은 현실과 동떨어진 관념과 추상의 세계로 빠져버렸다. 그러나 조선농민사의『조선농민』과『농민』에서는 창작의 주체가 바로 농민이라는 점에서 매우 큰 의미가 있다. 농민들은 자신의 생활을 시를 통해 반성하고 이를 토대로 대안을 제출하고 있다. 특히『조선농민』에서 그 개념이 형성된 농민문학은『농민』에 와서 농민문학 운동의 차원으로 전개된다. 또한 이 글에서는『농민』에 수록된 농민시를 생활문학의 관점에서 분석하고자 한다. 생활문학 혹은 생활시라는 개념은 허문일이 제기한 것으로, 농민문화의 독자성을 구축하려는 과정에서 제출된 것이다. 따라서 서구식 장르개념이 보편화되기 이전 허문일이 제기한 생활문학의 맥락을 추적하면서 농민시의 내용과 형식을 생활시의 영역 안으로 끌어들이려 한다. 이에 먼저 생활시로서의 농민시의 개념을 설정하고,『농민』에 수록된 다양한 농민시의 내용과 형식을 세 가지로 살펴보았다. 농민들을 억압하는 구조에 대한 저항의식을 표출한 것과 농촌경제의 파탄과 농민조합운동의 필요성을 형상화한 것, 그리고 농민 생활시의 새로운 형식으로 제기한 短詩와 短歌 등이 그것이다.
Abstract
This paper is the study on a life poem contained in 『Nongmin』 of ‘Chosunnongminsa’. The reason to pay attention to 『Nongmin』 is that peasant was the subject of creation and enjoyment. In Korea literature, people's lives have always been reorganized as the voice of the elite. Therefore, the literature imaging them has fallen into the world of abstraction and notion. But, it's very meaningful that the subject of creation is peasant in『Nongmin』,『Chosunnongmin』. Farmers reflected their lives through a poetry and submitted alternative through it. In addition, this article would like to analyze peasant poetry from the perspective of a life literature. The concept of a life literature or life poetry was brought from Heo-munil. He submitted it in the process of trying to build the identity of peasant culture. After setting the concept of peasant poetry as life poetry first, the content and format of peasant poetry were examined. one is expressing resistance to the oppressive structures against peasant, another is embodying breakdown of rural economy and the need for peasant's union movement and the other is ‘Dansi(短詩)’ and ‘Danga(短歌)’ filed as the new format of peasant life poetry.
