초록

In the era of artificial intelligence (AI), translation and interpreting (T&I) education is undergoing unprecedented change. This paper explores the transformation pathways of China’s T&I education in the age of AI and the challenges it faces. It first reviews the developmental trajectory of T&I education in China and, through an analysis of recent scholarship, reveals the limitations inherent in traditional pedagogical models. The paper then examines in detail the impact of AI technologies on T&I education, as well as the ethical and academic risks that may emerge in the process. Building on this foundation, it proposes concrete strategies for transformation along five dimensions: reorienting educational philosophy, reshaping instructional models, reconstructing the curriculum system, innovating teaching methods, and improving assessment mechanisms. Finally, the paper argues that these measures can substantially enhance the quality and effectiveness of T&I education and help cultivate a larger cohort of high-caliber translators who meet the demands of the new era. Future research should continue to focus on reforms and innovations in T&I education to better align with the developmental requirements of the Age of AI.
