이 연구는 “일흔 번씩 일곱 번”을 용서하라는 예수의 가르침을 목회 돌봄과 상담의 입장에서 이해하고자 한 시도이다. 필자는 용서를 기독교인의 당연한 품성으로 가르치며 피해자에게 용서를 요구하는 교리적인 경향과 더불어, 기독교 신앙이 지향하는 핵심 가치들와 무관하게 용서의 기술에만 치중하는 경향과도 거리를 둔다. 인간으로서 실행하기 매우 어려운 용서를 무한반복하며 원수를 사랑하라는 예수의 의도와 실천적 함의를 풀어내는 것이 이 연구의 목적이다. 이를 위해 목회상담학자 엔드류 레스터, 성서학자 톰 라이트, 그리고 조직신학자 미로슬라브 볼프, 신학자이자 심리학자 스티븐 체리와의 대화가 진행되었다. 이 연구는 목회 상담에서 거론하는 용서가 하나님의 나라에 대한 희망과 연관되어 있음을 밝히며 목회 돌봄과 상담에서 용서를 다루고자 할 때 희망을 염두에 두어야 함을 지적한다. 또한 인간은 최종적인 용서를 희망으로 품으면서도 최종적이지 않은 용서를 현실에서 추구하는 유한한 존재임을 인정하도록 돕는다. 따라서 이 연구는 지금 여기에 형성된 하나님 나라의 삶의 원리인 용서를 실천하기 위해 자기 내어줌과 포용의 사랑을 경험하도록 돕는 목회 돌봄과 상담을 제안한다.
Abstract
This study is an attempt to understand Jesus' teachings to forgive seventy-seven times. from the standpoint of pastoral care and counseling. I distance myself from the tendency to focus on the technique of forgiveness regardless of the core values ??of Christian faith, along with the doctrinal tendency to teach forgiveness as a natural characteristic of Christians and to request forgiveness of victims. The purpose of this study is to unravel Jesus' intention and practical implications to love the enemy infinitely and to repeatedly forgive, which is very difficult to execute as a human being. The conversations were held with pastoral theologian Andrew Lester, biblical scholar Tom Wright, systematic theologian Miroslav Volf, and theologian and psychologist Stephen Cherry. This study points out that forgiveness mentioned in pastoral counseling is associated with hope for God's kingdom, and also emphasizes that hope should be kept in mind when dealing with forgiveness in pastoral care and counseling. In addition, this study helps humans acknowledge that they are finite beings who pursue unfinished forgiveness in reality, while hoping for eternal forgiveness. Therefore, this study suggests pastoral care and counseling to help care receivers experience the love of embrace in order to practice forgiveness, the principle of life of the kingdom of God that is now formed here.
