한국여성의 수치심에 대한 목회상담학적 연구: 심리학적·신학적 고찰 및 목회적 돌봄의 전략을 중심으로

본 논문은 한국여성의 수치심에 대한 목회상담학적 연구로서, 한국여성의 수치심에 대하여 심리학적, 신학적인 측면에서 고찰하고, 고찰의 결과를 한국의 목회상담 및 목회적 돌봄에 구체적으로 어떻게 적용할 것인지 모색해보기 위한 것이다. 필자는 본 연구를 통해, 다른 어떤 감정들보다도 인간의 자기존중과 가장 직접적으로 맞닿아있는 수치심이 단순히 개인적인 차원의 감정이 아닌 사회문화적 요인과 밀접하게 연관되어있는 감정임을 확인하였다. 따라서 한국여성의 수치심을 치유하기 위해서는, 개인적 차원의 접근방법과 함께 개인에게 수치심을 조장하는 한국의 사회문화에 대한 구조적 차원의 접근방법이 수반되어야 함을 강조하였다. 한국의 전통적인 사회문화는 종교 및 가족체계를 통해 여성들에게 수치심을 조장하고 강요함으로써, 여성들로 하여금 자신의 여성성을 부인하고 자신의 몸을 폄하하면서 살아가도록 한 측면이 있다. 그러므로 한국여성의 수치심을 치유하기 위하여, 필자는 각 지역교회들이 그동안 가부장적 가족체계 속에서 고통당해온 한국여성들을 위한 일종의 대안적 가족체계가 되어주어야 함을 주장하였다. 마지막으로, 필자는 한국여성의 수치심 치유를 위한 목회적 돌봄의 전략으로서, 공감에 기초한 목회적 돌봄의 제공, 죄책감의 신학에서 수치심의 신학으로의 신학적 전환, 교회 자체가 또 하나의 대안적 가족공동체로서의 기능을 제공, 영성을 통한 수치심의 치유, 교회의 구조적 변화를 도모하는 목회적 돌봄의 제공 등을 제안하였다.
Abstract
This paper is a study of Korean women's shame from the perspective of pastoral care and counseling. It investigates the psychological and theological aspects of Korean women's shame. Its study probes for strategies for pastoral care and counseling in the Korean context. From this study, shame that is more directly linked with human self-respect than any other emotions is argued to have a close relationship with sociocultural factors as well as personal ones. Therefore, for the healing of Korean women's shame, personal and structural approaches are needed. Traditionally, Korean society and culture have forced women to accept shame through the religious and family system. Women have lived to deny their own femininity and to think of their body as impure. For the healing of Korean women's shame through pastoral care and counseling, I propose that each local church should be a kind of alternative family system for Korean women who have suffered within the patriarchal family system. As a result, five strategies are suggested for pastoral care in the Korean context pastoral care through empathy and mirroring, pastoral care through deconstructive listening to the story and reinterpretation it, pastoral care through the local community, pastoral care through religious experiences, and finally, pastoral care through designing a change to church structure.
