수도권 지역 간 방문인구 네트워크의 공간적 패턴 및 변화 연구

초록

본 연구의 목적은 수도권 내 지방자치단체 간 방문인구 네트워크의 특징과 변화를 분석하는 것이다. 개별 지자체는 자원의 한정성으로 인해 독자적인 경쟁력 제고에 한계가 있다. 다만, 타 지역과 상호작용의 확대를 통해 경쟁력을 강화할 수 있으며, 특히 대도시와의 상호작용은 규모의 경제를 공유하는 효과가 있다. 본 연구는 수도권 77개 지자체를 대상으로 2019~2023년 지역 간 방문인구 네트워크를 분석하였다. 지자체별 네트워크의 유사성에 따라 8개 블록으로 그룹화하였고, 블록별 네트워크의 특징과 변화를 살펴보았다. 사회연결망 분석에 기초한 블록 모델링 및 Concor 분석을 수행하였다. 분석 결과는 첫째, 인접한 지역의 네트워크 특성이 유사하고, 인접한 지역 간 상호작용이 더욱 활발하다. 둘째, 블록별 방문인구 유입 및 유출 특성을 통해, 각 지자체는 활성화가 필요한 상호작용의 방식과 대상을 특정할 수 있다. 셋째, COVID-19 팬데믹을 기점으로 지역 간 네트워크의 패턴이 다양화되었다. 본 연구의 한계는 분석대상 기간 및 지역, 상호작용 방식이 한정된다는 점으로, 분석대상 및 영향요인의 확대를 통한 후속연구가 필요하다.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the features and changes of visitation networks among municipalities within the Seoul Metropolitan Area in South Korea. Individual municipalities can enhance their competitiveness by expanding their interactions with other regions, especially with the Seoul Metropolitan Areas, which have the effect of sharing economies of scale. This study analyzes the inter-regional visitation networks from 2019 to 2023 for 77 municipalities in the Seoul metropolitan area. The municipalities are grouped into eight blocks according to the similarity of the networks, and the characteristics and changes of the networks by block are examined. Block modeling and Concor analysis based on social network analysis are conducted. The analysis shows that, first, neighboring municipalities have similar network characteristics, and interactions between neighboring cities are more active. Second, the inflow and outflow characteristics of visitor arrivals and departures by block allow each municipality to identify how and with whom interactions need to be activated. Third, the pattern of networks across the Seoul Metropolitan Areas has diversified since the COVID-19 pandemic. The limitations of this study are the limited time period, region, and interaction method analyzed, and follow-up studies are needed to expand the number of analyzed subjects and influencing factors.
