북송대 문인화 사대부 문화의 시각화 - 소식(蘇軾)의 논의를 중심으로 -

흔히 이해하는 것과 달리 북송 문인화(文人畵)가 등장했는가 하는 점은 의 문의 여지가 많다. 북송 문인들은 화면보다는 화가와 그 인격에 관심을 두었 다. 그들의 관심의 향방은 당시 뜨겁게 논의되던 사부 문화론의 맥락으로부터 이해할 수 있다. 북송 사부들은 송의 문치주의(文治主義) 정책 위에서 정 치적인 책무를 자임(自任)하고 학문적으로 도를 자득(自得)했으며 서화를 자락 (自樂)하는 삶을 위하고자 했다. 이른바 북송 개인주의의 강화의 맥락에서 문인화가의 등장을 이해해보는 것이 이글의 첫 번째 목표이다. 예술이 자임과 자 득에 방해된다는 논리에 항해 소식(蘇軾)을 위시한 북송 몇몇 문인들은 유 가의 이념체계를 거부하고 가치 상론에 입각하여 우의어물과 같은 서화활동의 자기규제 원칙을 제시하기에 이르렀다. 아울러 그들은 『장자』와 왕유로부터 얻 은 문인화가상의 유산을 바탕으로 이은(吏隱)적 삶을 사는 관료문인으로서 세계 의 이치와 시의 소재 정취를 화면에 시각적으로 구현하는 문인화가들을 선정하 여 역사에 기록했다.
Abstract
It is still obscure whether the literary paintings appeared in the Song Dynasty. On the contraty texts of the time tells that the Scholar-officials were interested in painter's personality not in the facial literary characters of painting works. They reinforced their own selves through accepting political duties, scholastic cultivation and enjoying arts-amusement which this paper emphasizes for constituting literati culture. They suggested self-regulation principle in return not to be preoccupied by painting and caligraphy based on value-relativism from Zhang Zi. The literati painters whom they shaped the images of on the texts were self secluded scholar-officials not indulged in paintings, knowing on which they painted and able to shift poetic emotions, subjects to painting screens.
