초록

This paper attempts to analyze the reasons why China supported Russia’s invasion of Ukraine from three different perspectives. During Russia’s war in Ukraine, China provided significant diplomatic and material support to Russia. These three perspectives that this paper intends to explain are summed up this way. The first perspective highlights the close and deep relations between China and Russia, which naturally leads Beijing to support Russia’s invasion despite criticism from the international community. The second perspective is China’s anti-American approach. China supported Russia’s invasion due to the conflict and confrontation between the United States and China. Therefore, China supports Russia’s invasion to undermine U.S. policies and goals in Ukraine ultimately. Finally, China’s support for Russia’s invasion aims to secure backing from Russia in anticipation of potential external challenges that China may face in the future. In conclusion, the paper seeks to develop these three perspectives to shed light on China’s support for Russia’s intrusion into Ukraine.

Abstract

The second perspective is China’s anti-American approach. China supported Russia’s invasion due to the conflict and confrontation between the United States and China. Finally, China’s support for Russia’s invasion aims to secure backing from Russia in anticipation of potential external challenges that China may face in the future. In conclusion, the paper seeks to develop these three perspectives to shed light on China’s support for Russia’s intrusion into Ukraine.
