초록

This study analyzes Kim Yo-jong’s perception of South Korea and her strategic tendencies through an operational code analysis of 42 official statements issued from 2020 to 2024. Using the Profiler Plus program, findings show a consistent pattern of conflict-oriented beliefs, placing her in the DEF typology. Her philosophical belief system reflects hostility and uncertainty, while her instrumental beliefs emphasize coercion, including punishment and resistance. Despite South Korea’s leadership changes, her belief system remains stable, rooted in internalized threat perceptions. Tactical flexibility allows the strategic use of conciliatory rhetoric. As a core figure in North Korea’s opaque regime, Kim represents both the leadership and the state, and her rhetoric reflects a broader pattern of deterrence-driven, coercive engagement toward South Korea.
