국회에 대한 인식에 미치는 정치적 요인에 관한 분석: ‘제19대 국회의원 유권자 조사 분석’을 중심으로

본 연구는 ‘제19대 국회의원선거 유권자 조사’에 대한 경험적 분석을 통해 국회에 대한 만족도에 미치는 정치적 요인들을 검토하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 정부의 경제정책에 만족하는 유권자일수록 국회에 대해 만족할 가능성이 높아졌다. 둘째, 지역구 국회의원 활동에 만족하는 유권자일수록 국회에 대해 만족할 가능성이 높아졌다. 셋째, 기존 연구들의 결과와 마찬가지로 유권자의 정책결정과정에서 자신들의 정치대변성이 높다고 인식하는 유권자일수록 국회에 대해 만족할 가능성이 높아졌지만 통계적으로 유의한 결과는 아니었다. 넷째, 지상파 TV를 신뢰하는 유권자일수록 국회에 대해 만족할 가능성이 높아졌다. 이러한 연구결과는 정부 정책과 지역구 국회의원의 의정활동의 개선을 통해 국회에 대한 긍정적인 인식이 확산될 수 있다는 것을 시사하며 대중매체가 국회에 대한 인식에 미치는 영향력을 부분적으로나마 증명한다.
Abstract
This research examines which political factors affect the satisfaction of voters with the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea by analyzing the 2012 Korean Congressional Election Studies data that Korean Social Science Center surveyed. My findings show that voter who are satisfied with economy and the members of the National Assembly in their districts are more likely to be satisfied with the National Assembly. Also, voters who trust is broadcast networks are more likely satisfied with the National Assembly. These results imply that positive perception of the National Assembly will be expanded by the improvement of policy outcomes and performance of individual members of the National Assembly, and partially support the effect of the media on political perception.
