This paper aims to read Park In-Hwan's poetry with focus on his identity as an artist belonged to bilingual generation, which leads to shed a new light on his position in Korean literaty history. This may also be an attempt to settle and grant meaning to his poetry as the very result of experiencing historical events such as Liberation and Korean War as one of the members of bilingual generation, which has relatively failed to arouse interest. His poetry is tightly related to those historical events because he was being put through those major Korean historical events as “the other”, due to the fact that he was more fluent in Japanese than in Korean when it comes to writing poetry. His poetry with using motif of a lover as an alter ego is a vivid reflection of his experience in 1950s.
