김수영 문학에서 ‘이중언어’의 문제와 ‘자코메티적 발견’의 중요성 －최근 연구 동향과 관련하여－

Abstract

This dissertation reaches the subject and special features of new studies since 2000's on Kim Soo-Yŏng's literature. Recently the interests of Kim Soo-Yŏng are increased with focus on post-colonialism and the relation between his translation and poetry. But this studies are separated from each other. So, it is necessary to pay attention to the interrelation with post-colonialism and Kim's translation work. For this cause, this paper attemps to present new matters of study on Kim's. First, I emphasis on lingual identity of Kim's the Japanese/Korean bilingualism. During that time, the generation of Kim Su-Yŏng have been called 'Postwar Generation' in Korean literature. But I will be very emphatic on the lingual character of bilingualism of postwar generation who were born in 1920's in Japanese colonial era and got an formal education. It is not until our eyes kept on lingual identity of Kim Su-Yŏng that we notice unknown meanings in Japanese writing of Kim's. Especially, I placed stress on Kim's Composition Note Ⅵ, written Japanese in 1966. This Note invovles many various meanings about Kim's bilingualism and his inner consciousness of lingual identity. Above all, in this note Kim stated that he had been translating Lee- Sang's Japanese poem into Korean. Given his mind to Lee-Sang, Kim intentionally wrote composition note in Japanese. I took notice of the importance of Note Ⅵ and explained disappeared implications of Japanese writing of Kim's. Besides, with Note Ⅵ as its starting point, there was a great turn in his poetics. Under the influence of Giacometti's works, he realized that what 'true' looking and its representation were and what the poetry's reality were. In Composition Note Ⅵ, Kim called his own awakening 'Giacomettian Transformation' or 'Giacomettian Finding'. I explained that his declaration was closely related to the mode of translation, and that his methodology of poetics in the latter period of Kim' literature was erected by means of translation experiences. In virtue of it, Kim' poetic style was remarkably changed. From now on, the study of Kim Soo-Yŏng's literature requires to take notice of the relations between lingual identity and his translation experiences, or between translation and the change of style on composition of poems and to identify their interconnections.
