초록
Regardless of who a translator may be or how he may translate, he should not make a mess of the title of a movie, which is a cultural icon of global era. It has been long since Korean movies also took their places in Chinese-speaking countries as a representative genre of Hanryu. The titles of Korean movies are faces that symbolize and represent Korean culture. Likewise, the titles of Chinese movies also imply Chinese culture and tradition. We must make the titles of the movies frequently introduced from other countries accurate and, furthermore, more aesthetic. If the targets of movie translation are set to Korean titles of Chinese movies and Chinese titles of Korean movies, we -- Chinese majors -- must provide correct guidelines in regard to such translation tasks and, at the same time, are obliged to promote correct translations by means of performing fair evaluations over the results of translations. In that respect, this paper will suggest proper ways of translation by analyzing the aspects of Korean titles of the Chinese movies -- mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan -- introduced to Korean international film festivals or released in Korea, by analyzing their aspects, and by determining the quality of existing translations from the viewpoint of an assessor.
