Abstract
This study purported to empirically analyze the effects of family’s religious environment on adult children’s religiosity(attitude & behavior). The “2008 Korean General Social Survey” data was used to test the hypotheses. The findings are as follows: (ⅰ) family’s religions tend to be consistent between parents and between parents and adult children. (ⅱ) The parental religious consistency had strong effects on adult children’s religious attitude & behavior. To summarize, the degree of adult children’s religiousness was strongest in Protestant and mild in Catholic and Buddhist. (ⅲ) With respect to religiosity, mother’s effect was stronger than father’s. (ⅳ) Parents’ religious activity during children’s earlihood had strong effects on their early religious activity, but weak effects on their religious attitude and behaviors in children’s adulthood.
