1994年から2011年までの「金正日時代」日朝関係は改善と悪化を繰り返してきた｡北朝鮮と日本の国交正常化に向けた「日朝国交正常化交渉」と2002年と2004年に開催された「日朝首脳会談」により､両国関係回復への期待感が高まった｡しかし､北朝鮮のミサイル発射によって再び日朝関係が緊張状態に突入する｡特に日本人拉致問題は日本国内の北朝鮮に対する世論悪化を招いてきたにもかかわらず､両国の映画を通じた交流は持続的に行われた｡ この時期､両国の映画交流は新しい局面を迎えることになる｡北朝鮮で日本映画が映画館で大衆に上映され､日朝合作映画の存在が公開されたという事例が代表的だと言えるだろう｡また､日本の有名監督たちが北朝鮮映画界と関係を結び､国交を結んでいない状態であるにも関わらず､両国の映画交流は民間レベルでも緊密に行われた｡ 一方､この時期の北朝鮮映画における日本(人)表象と､日本映画における北朝鮮(人)表象は､同時期の両国の外交的様相と北朝鮮社会の当面する問題および社会的雰囲気に大きな影響を受けていた｡まず､北朝鮮映画による日本(人)表象は大衆に反日意識を高めることを目的とする「反日教養」映画に顕著に現れた｡このような映画の中で日本(人)は朝鮮を物質的､精神的に収奪する存在として描かれた｡ また､2000年代以降の北朝鮮映画における日本(人)の表象は解放後､朝鮮人の帰還過程とその後の人生を描いた映画の中でも見られる｡このような映画で繰り返されている「被害者(朝鮮女性)/加害者(日本男性)」の構図は､解放後も続く日本(人)の朝鮮に対する蛮行を示し､当時の北朝鮮社会に反日感情を鼓吹させる役割を果たした｡ 次に､日本映画における北朝鮮(人)の表象も､日本社会の北朝鮮に対する政策と世論の影響を受けていた｡特に在日朝鮮人を主要人物型に設定した映画は､彼らを「韓国籍」「朝鮮籍」と二分化して思考する日本社会の現実が反映されたものだった｡さらに映画で「朝鮮籍=北朝鮮」という図式は､北朝鮮を象徴する事物､そして現実と遊離している朝鮮学校の姿を通じて生産されていた｡そしてこのように作られた図式は､当時の日本国内の北朝鮮に対する否定的な世論と重なり､現実の中の北朝鮮(人)に対するイメージと認識にまで影響を及ぼした｡
Abstract
From 1994 to 2011, relations between North Korea and Japan in the so-called ‘Kim Jong-il era’ continued to improve and deteriorate. The ‘North Korea-Japan diplomatic negotiations’ for the normalization of diplomatic relations between North Korea and Japan and the ‘North Korea-Japan summit’ held in 2002 and 2004 raised expectations for the restoration of relations between the two countries. However, North Korea-Japan relations were strained again due to North Korea's missile launch, and the abduction of Japanese citizens, in particular, caused worsening public opinion about North Korea in Japan. Nevertheless, exchanges between the two countries through films continued. During this period, film exchanges between the two countries faced a new phase. In North Korea, it can be said that there are cases in which Japanese films were screened to the public through theaters and the existence of joint films between North Korea and Japan was disclosed. On the other hand, the Japanese(people) representation in North Korean films and the North Korean(people) representation in Japanese films during this period were greatly influenced by the diplomatic aspects of both countries, the immediate problems of North Korean society, and the social atmosphere. First, the Japanese(people) representation in North Korean films was prominent in the ‘anti-Japanese liberal arts’ film aimed at raising anti-Japanese consciousness to the public. In these films, Japan (people) is depicted as a materially and mentally exploiting Joseon. In addition, the representation of Japanese(people) in North Korean films since the 2000s can also be found in films depicting the return of Koreans after liberation and their lives thereafter. And the representation of North Koreans in Japanese films was also influenced by Japanese society's policies and public opinion toward North Korea. In particular, films that set Koreans in Japan as the main character type reflected the reality of Japanese society that thought by dividing them into ‘Korean nationality’ and ‘Joseon nationality’. Moreover, in the film, the scheme of ‘Korean = North Korea’ was being produced through objects symbolizing North Korea and the appearance of a Joseon school separated from reality. And the scheme created in this way overlapped with negative public opinion on North Korea in Japan at the time, affecting the image and perception of North Korea in reality.
