초록
The aim of this paper is to present the perspective of Mary Rostworowski regarding the expansion and collapse of the Inca civilization. Although Rostworowski does not discard the factors indicated (the technological superiority of the Spanish, fratricidal strife, infectious diseases, etc.) by previous studies as causes of easy triumph of Spanish conquistadors, she emphasizes that the principle of reciprocity of the Andes influenced positively in the rapid expansion of the Incas and then negatively in the incredible collapse against a handful of Spanish conquistadors. The merit of Rosworowski’s approach lies in having developed a new way of historical narration by reviewing the internal factors of the Andes.
