일과 삶의 균형에 대한 예비 유아교사의 은유 분석

본 연구의 목적은 예비 유아교사들이 일과 삶의 균형을 어떻게 인식하고 있는지 살펴보는데 있다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 예비 유아교사 227명을 대상으로 은유 분석을 실시하였다. 예비 유아교사들이 응답한 일과 삶의 균형에 대한 은유적 표현은 크게 6가지 범주로 분류되었다. 연구 결과, 첫째 예비 유아교사들은 일과 삶의 균형을 ‘치우침 없는 구분’, ‘일보다 앞서는 삶’, ‘달성하고 싶은 최상의 상태’, ‘반드시 필요한 존재’, ‘불가능한 현실’,‘개인마다 다른 기준’범주의 순서로 인식하고 있었다. 둘째, 예비 유아교사들은 일과 삶의 균형을 ‘치우침 없는 구분’으로 인식하며, 일과 삶의 분명한 구분을 강조하였다. 또한 두 영역 간의 균형을 일보다는 삶에 무게를 두며 인식하였고, 일과 삶의 균형이 잘 맞춰진 상태를 이상적이라고 여기기도 하였다. 그 밖에도 일을 위해 꼭 필요한 개념으로 일과 삶의 균형을 인식하였으며, 일과 삶의 균형이 현실적으로 실현 불가능하다는 부정적 인식을 나타내기도 했다. 끝으로 개인마다 일과 삶의 균형에 대한 기준이 다름을 강조하기도 하였다. 본 연구의 시사점으로는 예비 유아교사들이 교직 생활을 긍정적으로 인식할 수 있도록, 교사양성기관에서 직무관련 교과목을 증설하거나 직무 이해 프로그램을 개발하여 운영할 필요가 있다.
Abstract
This study was to investigate pre-service early childhood teachers’ recognition of work-life balance through metaphorical analysis with 227 samples majoring in early childhood education. Pre-service early childhood teachers’ the metaphorical representation of work-life balance was largely divided into six categories. The results are as follows; First, the categories were in order such as accurate distinction, more-important-than-work life, best condition, indispensable thing, impossible reality, and individual criteria. Second, the pre-service teachers considered work-life balance as ‘accurate distinction’ and emphasized clear distinction between work and life. Work-life balance was recognized by putting more weight on life than work, and also thought as best condition. In addition, the pre-service teachers recognized work-life balance as a necessary concept for work, and expressed perception that negative work-life balance is practically impossible to realize. Work-life balance was considered as an individual criteria because people have different standards for balance between two areas. The implications of this study are to expand job-related subjects and operate job-related programs at the teacher-rearing institutions so that pre-service early childhood teachers can perceive teaching life positively
