학문공동체로서 제주교육학연구회가 2022년 12월에 창립되고 관련 연구들을 진행, 발표하면서 제주교육학은 학문 정립의 요건을 갖추어나가고 있다. 이 연구의 목적은 제주교육학의 개념을 정의하고 그 내용의 체계를 제시하는 데 있다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위해 문헌연구를 기반으로 연구가 수행되었으며, 설정한 연구문제는 다음의 2가지이다. 제주교육학의 개념과 성격 그리고 목적은 무엇인가? 제주교육학의 내용체계는 어떻게 구성되는가? 이 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 제주교육학의 시론적 개념은 간명하면서도 제주교육학의 성격과 목적으로 연결되는 일관성 있는 체계로 정의되었다. 둘째, 제주교육학의 내용체계는 교육목적론을 연결고리로 하여 외부 체계(교육내용론, 교육방법론, 교육지원론)와 내부 체계(교육주체론, 교육대상론, 학교-마을론)의 이중구조를 형성하는 것으로 제시되었다. 이러한 연구 결과는 지역교육학으로서 제주교육학의 위상을 가늠하고, 지역교육학을 학문적으로 정립해 나가는 과정에서 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to define the concept of Jeju Educational Studies and propose a content framework. To achieve this, the study was conducted through a review of relevant literature and addressed two research questions: (1) What are the concepts, characteristics, and aims of Jeju Educational Studies? and (2) How can the content framework of Jeju Educational Studies be structured? The main findings are as follows: First, the preliminary conceptualization of Jeju Educational Studies is defined as a coherent system that is concise yet consistently connected to its essential characteristics and educational aims. Second, the content framework of Jeju Educational Studies is presented as a dual structure. The external framework includes the theory of educational content, pedagogy, and educational support, while the internal framework comprises the theory of educational agents, learners, and the school-community. These two dimensions are interconnected through the perspective of educational purpose. These findings are expected to serve as a foundational resource for establishing Jeju Educational Studies academically as a form of local education theory and for assessing its potential significance and identity within the broader discourse of local educational studies.
