본 논문은 자크 라캉과 슬라보예 지젝이 대변하는 정신분석학적 , 유물론적 페미니즘 이론의 기반을 살펴보고자 한다 . 라캉은 흔히 포스트구조주의의 대변자로 알려져 있지만 , 이것은 라캉 사상의 일부 면모에 해당할 뿐이다 . 라캉의 사상은 현상학적 초기 단계와 포스트구조주의적 중기를 거쳐 유물론적 후기로 이행한 바 있다 . 라캉은 상징계와 언어의 가부장적 구조를 이론화함으로써 상징계에 대한 페미니즘적 비판의 길을 이미 열었지만 , 남근중심적 사유모델을 극복하지 못하고 결국 상징질서를 고착시키는 데 머무르고 말았다고 흔히 비판받는다 . 이러한 비판과는 달리지젝은 후기 라캉의 유물론적 이론에 기반해 확연히 다른 여성 이론을 전개시킨다 . 라캉의 정신분석학에서 여성은 타자의 위상을 지닌다 . 그러나 그것은 포스트구조주의적 절대적 타자성의 개념과는 구분되며 , 존재론적 의미를 함축한다 . 포스트구조주의에 따르면 전통적 형이상학은 동일성의 철학이다 . 타자성은 이러한 형이상학을극복하기 위한 중심 범주로 나타난다 . 지젝은 라캉의 여성 개념을 더욱 발전시켜자신의 유물론적 철학의 기반으로 삼는다 . 본 논문의 목표는 이 두 철학자의 여성개념과 성 차이 개념을 논의하는 것이다 . 이 두 개념은 페미니즘 이론과 관련을 맺을 뿐만 아니라 존재론적 공백과 불완전성을 내포하는 유물론적 존재론을 정초하는데로 나아간다
Abstract
This paper examines the basis of psychoanalytic and materialistic feminist theory represented by Jacques Lacan and Slavoj Žižek. Lacan is commonly known as a spokesman for poststructuralism, but this is only a part of Lacan’s thought. Lacan’s thought was transitioned to materialistic late phase through the early phase of phenomenology and the middle phase of poststructuralism. Although Lacan has already opened the way for feminist criticism of the symbolic order by theorizing the patriarchal structure of the symbolic order and language, it is often criticized that he failed to overcome the male-dominated reason model and eventually stayed in the symbolic order. Contrary to these criticisms, Žižek develops a distinctly different concept of woman based on the materialistic theory of the late Lacan. In Lacan’s psychoanalysis, women have the status of the other. However, this notion of the other is distinct from the notion of poststructuralist absolute other, and implies an ontological meaning. According to poststructuralism, traditional metaphysics is the philosophy of identity. Thus, alterity appears as a central category to overcome the metaphysics. Žižek develops Lacan’s concept of woman further and uses it as the basis for his materialistic philosophy. The aim of this paper is to discuss the concept of woman and sexual difference of these two philosophers. These two concepts not only relate to feminist theory, but also move on to the foundation of materialistic ontology, which implies an ontological emptiness and incompleteness.
