콘텐츠 때문에 초과이윤을 얻는 네트워크 자본을 대상으로 할 때, 콘텐츠 생산자들의 노동은 차액지대의 원인이지만 차액지대의 실체는 아니다. 차액지대는 소비자들의 소득에서 이전된 것이며, 따라서 접속자들이 직접 생산했거나 착취 혹은 수탈한 잉여노동의 일부이다. 콘텐츠 생산자들은 자본주의적 노동을 하는 것이 아니고, 잉여노동을 하는 것도 아니다. 네트워크 자본은 콘텐츠 생산자들이 선물로 준 공유재를 이용해서 돈을 벌고 있다. 이러한 현상은 수탈이라는 개념으로 설명할 수 있는데, 착취는 직접적 생산과정을 통하여 잉여가치를 취득하는 것이고, 수탈은 그 이외의 과정을 통해서 잉여가치를 취득하는 것이다.
Abstract
When we consider the network capital that gets extra profit due to contents, the labor of contents producers is the cause of differential rent, but not the substance of differential rent. Differential rent is originated from consumer’s income, and is a part of surplus labor which is exploited or expropriated. Content producers do not do capitalist work, nor they do surplus labor. Network capital earns money utilizing the free goods that contents producers give. This phenomenon can be explained with the concept of expropriation. Exploitation means taking surplus value through direct production process, and expropriation means taking surplus value through other processes.
