이 글은 마르크스에 기반을 두어 대안적인 노동 원리를 모색하는 것이다. 지금까지 이러한 시도로서 탈노동주의와 노동의 인간화 프로젝트가 있었다. 탈노동주의는노동으로부터의 해방을 주장하며 노동을 최소화하는 대안적 사회를 구상하고 있는데, 이것은 노동을 부정적으로 보고 노동과 자유를 대립시킨다는 한계를 지니고 있다. 반면 노동을 통한 해방을 추구한 사례로는 노동의 인간화를 들 수 있는데, 이것은 전체 사회의 변화를 도외시하고 노동과정에만 집중함으로써 결국 실패하고 말았다. 마르크스는 계급 사회에서의 노동으로부터 해방을 추구하였지만 공산주의 사회에서는 분업을 폐지하고 노동을 통한 해방을 이룰 수 있을 것이라고 믿었다. 이를위해서는 노동의 성격을 노고(勞苦)에서 창조적 활동으로 변화시키고, 사회적 필요와 개인의 욕구를 조화시키는 노동 분배 체계를 수립할 필요가 있다.
Abstract
This paper explores alternative labour principles based on Marx. On onehand, those who perceive labour as negative plan a post-work society based onliberation from labour. On the other hand, advocates of humanized labourdesign democratic and enjoyable labour processes without trying to go beyondcapitalism. In contrast to both perspectives, Marx believe that we should pursueliberation from labour in class societies, and, in a communist society, see labouras the self-realization of individuals. Alternative labour principles requirechanging productive activities from labour to work and establishing a system tomeet social and individual needs.
