이 논문은 발리바르의 논의를 지침 삼아, 스피노자와 마르크스가 개인주의와 집단주의(전체론)를 모두 거부하면서 개인과 집단을 하나의 동일한 구조 내에서 통일시키는 과개체론을 사유한 방식에 대해 고찰한다. 동시에 이 논문은 스피노자와 마르크스가 상이한 내용을 이론화하면서도 어떻게 두 가지 특징을 공유하게 되었는지를 파악하려고 하는데, 과개체성의 이중 구축 및 과개체성의 초과라는 특징들이 그것들이다. 이 논문은 스피노자가 개체들의 합성과 분해라는 관념을 통해 국가라는 상위 개체의 구축(인간 개인들의 합성)을 사유하면서도 그것이 진정한 개체를 형성하기보다는 단지 유사-개체에 이르게 되는 이유를 밝힌다. 또한 이 논문은 마르크스가 청년 시절에 가졌던 소외의 문제설정을, 과개체성에 대한 새로운 이론화를 통해 완전히 변화시키는 과정을 추적한다. 마지막으로 이 논문은 스피노자와 마르크스의 문제설정이 갖는 공통의 특징이 개체화와 개성화의 구조적 차이에 대한 인식에 기초해 있음을 보이고, 또한 이것이 과개체성의 변화 가능성과 결합될 수 있다고 주장한다.
Abstract
This article follows Balibar’s discussions in examining the ways in which Spinoza and Marx thought about the unity of the individual and the collective in the problematic of the transindividual. At the same time, this article tries to understand why Spinoza and Marx share two common characteristics despite their different theorizations: a double construction of transindividuality and an excess in relation to transindividuality. First, this article tries to discover the reason why Spinoza conceived of the State from the standpoint of the composition and decomposition of individuals and yet ended up with a concept of the State as a quasi-individual. And then this article also tries to understand how Marx in his later period transformed the problematic of alienation that he had in his younger period. Finally, this article claims that the two common characteristics between Spinoza and Marx are based on the structural difference between individuation and individualization, a difference which is to be united with the mutability of transindividuaity.
