박현채 경제학의 사상·이론에 대한 기존 연구는 단절설, 연속-동요설, 연속설 등이 있다. 본 연구에서는 박현채 사상이 민족주의와 실천가적 접근을 기본으로 연속- 진화했다고 주장한다. 박현채의 민족주의 사상 실천의 주요 계기는 다음과 같다. 첫번째 계기는 4.19혁명이다. 박현채는 4.19를 통해 한국 민족주의가 재현했으며 민주주의는 민족주의를 통해 구체성을 드러낸다고 보았다. 둘째는 1차 인혁당 사건이다. 박현채는 이 사건을 계기로 급진적 조직운동과는 거리를 두었으며 대중적 민족주의 운동을 이론적으로 뒷받침하고자 했다. 셋째는 재야 저항운동이다. 박현채는재야 지식인과 기독교 운동과 교류하면서 재야 운동의 체계적 논리를 제공했다. 넷째는 공화주의적 이론 실천이다. 박현채는 사회구성체 논쟁에서 급진적·관념적 이론화를 경계했으며, 재야 민족주의에 공화주의적 실천을 포함하는 방향을 모색했다. 박현채가 공화주의를 직접 논의하지는 않았지만, 실천적으로는 민주공화의 입장에 있었고, 최근 공화주의 이론과 연결되는 단초를 지니고 있었다.
Abstract
Previous research on Park Hyun-chae’s economics has presented perspectives on discontinuity, continuity-fluctuation, and continuity. This study argues that Park Hyun-chae’s thought evolved through continuity, based on nationalism and a practitioner-oriented approach. The key moments that led Park Hyun-chae to put his nationalist ideology into practice are as follows: the April 19 Revolution, the first People’s Revolutionary Party incident, ‘Chaeya’ opposition movement, republican practice. Although Park Hyun-chae never seriously discussed republicanism, he was practically in favor of a democratic republic, and we can find clues that connect him to recent republican theory.
