본 연구는 청소년 자살예방 프로그램을 개발하고, 프로그램이 청소년의 자살위험성 및자살태도에 유의미한 영향을 미치는지 검증하기 위해 수행되었다. 프로그램 개발은 김창대 등(2011)이 제안한 기획단계, 구성단계, 실시 및 평가단계의 절차모형을 적용하였다. 프로그램은 학교현장을 기반으로 수행하도록 45분씩 실시되는 2회기의 내용으로 구성되었고, 프로그램의 효율성과 효과성을 높이기 위한 보조도구로서 학생용 워크북이 보조적으로 활용되도록 하였다. 프로그램의 내용은 청소년 자살 및 청소년기의 발달적 특징, 자살에 대한 인지적·사회적·정서적·행동적 징후와 대처방법, 자살관련 동영상, 소감나누기로 구성되었다. 프로그램의 효과성 검증은 부산시에 소재한 중·고등학교 3개교에 재학중인 청소년 94명(남 31명, 여 63명)을 실험집단으로, 동일 학교 및 학년에 재학 중인 청소년 113명(남 31명, 여 87명)을 통제집단으로 구성하여 이루어졌다. 효과측정은 프로그램 사전-사후의 자살위험성 및 자살태도에 대한 독립표본 및 대응표본 t-검증을 통해 이루어졌다. 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 본 프로그램은 청소년의 자살위험성의 하위영역 가운데 부정적 자기평가, 절망감을 유의미하게 감소시키는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 본 프로그램은 청소년의 자살태도 하위 영역가운데 허용 가능한 자살, 예측 가능한 자살, 예방가능한 자살에 대한 태도에서 유의미한 변화를 주는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 중심으로 연구의 함의점과 제한점을 논의하였다.
Abstract
This study aimed to develop a suicide prevention program for adolescents. The process of program development has followed the procedure model suggested by Kim et al.(2011) like the planning step, composition step, and execution & evaluation step. The main contents of this program are the self-understanding focusing on self-exploration & environment exploration and the learning cognitive and behavioral strategies and skills(e.g. self-management, time- management, and memory strategy) to cope with their difficult situations. Results of this study were as follows: First, this program had a significant effect on decreasing the total score of suicide risk, negative self-evaluation and despair while it did not show the significant change of hostility and suicide thinking. Second, the program had a positive significant effect on attitude toward acceptable suicide, predictable suicide, preventable suicide. On the other hand, it had no significant effect on attitude toward suicide as taboo, suicide as general behavior. In conclusion, this study has a significance that the program can reduce the risk of suicide and change the attitude toward suicide for adolescents who are in potential risks of suicide.
