사이버공간에서의 악성댓글 사용에 대한 탐색적 연구

본 연구는 최근 사회적 문제가 되고 있는 악성댓글 사용자의 심리사회적 특성을 분석하고자 하였다. 연구대상은 서울 및 경기도에 위치한 학교에 재학 중인 초등학생 248명, 중학생 228명, 고등학생 260명과 20~30대의 대학생 또는 직장인 251명으로 총 987명이었다. 정보통신윤리위원회의 ‘사이버언어폭력 유형’을 바탕으로 작성한 악성댓글 사용경험 질문지와 공격성척도, 충동성척도, 대인관계성향척도를 사용하여 설문을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 첫째, 남자가 여자보다 악성댓글을 더 많이 사용하였고, 연령이 낮을수록 악성댓글 사용경험이 많았다. 실제로는 악성댓글을 쓰는 사람의 50% 이상이 그것이 악성댓글이라고 생각하지 않은 채 악성댓글을 쓰고 있었고, 쓴 후에도 별다른 죄책감을 느끼지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 초등학생과 중학생은 악성댓글 사용 후 불안한 느낌을 보고하였다. 둘째, 연구대상자를 악성댓글 사용경험 정도에 따라 악성댓글 비사용집단, 악성댓글 저사용집단, 악성댓글 과다사용집단으로 분류하여 대인관계성향, 충동성, 공격성의 차이를 살펴본 결과, 과다사용집단에서 지배-우월적, 경쟁-공격적, 과시-자기도취적, 그리고 반항-불신적 대인관계성향이 높게 나타났고, 충동성과 공격성의 모든 하위유형에서도 과다사용집단이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 언어적공격성이 모든 연령대에서 악성댓글 비사용집단과 사용집단을 잘 구분해주는 공통요인으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 연구의 제한점과 의의에 대해 논의하였다.
Abstract
This study investigated the psychosocial effects on recent social problems caused by the vicious cyber repliers. The participants were 248 primary students, 228 middle school student, 260 high school student and 251 aged between 20-30, all residing or enrolled within Seoul and Gyeonggi province. The survey was conducted using the Hostility Scale, BIS-2, Interpersonal Relations Disposition Scale and with reference to the survey results of interviews conducted with vicious cyber repliers. Through the research, it was found that the younger the replier's ages, they had high tendency to write offensive vicious replies and more males were involved compared to those of the female vicious repliers. It was an amazing find that more than 50% of all the vicious repliers felt no sense of guilt nor considered their behaviour to be offensive or vicious. On the other hand, primary and middle school students were reported to have a sense of guilt when writing vicious cyber replies. Through the research on groups with high usages of vicious replies, lower using groups and groups not using vicious replies has shown that the high usage group has a higher tendency of suffering from aggression, impulsiveness and interpersonal relation disposition such as ‘dominant superiority', ‘competitive aggression', ‘self-ostensive inclination' and ‘disobedient distrust'. Moreover, the abusive verbal aggression can be used as tool of determination to classify between vicious cyber repliers and the non groups that does not use vicious cyber replies. Finally, the limitation and implication of this study were discussed.
