시진핑 시기 중국의 ‘강대국 외교(大國外交)’와 미중 무역분쟁

본 연구는 미중 무역분쟁이 중국의 강대국 외교(大國外交)에 미치는 영향을 규명하는데 목적이 있다. 이는 시진핑 정부의 강대국 외교는 어떠한 특징을 보이며, 미중 무역분쟁은 중국의 강대국 외교에 어떠한 의미를 갖는가라는 질문에 답을 구한 것이다. 본 연구는 중국의 강대국 외교에는 ‘강대국으로서의 외교’와 ‘강대국에 대한 외교’가 혼재돼있음을 지적하고, 이 두 가지 틀에 기반하여 시진핑 시기 중국 특색의 강대국 외교(中國特色的大國外交)를 분석한다. 공고화된 강대국 정체성을 기반으로 ‘강대국으로서의 외교’가 ‘강대국에 대한 외교’보다 강화되었고, 양자 간 구분이 모호하고 서로 중첩되는 현상도 나타났지만, 미국 발 무역분쟁으로 인해 중국의 강대국 외교는 상당한 충격을 받게 되었다고 주장한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of US-China trade disputes on China's major power diplomacy. this study analyzes the China’s major power diplomacy as ‘diplomacy as a major power' and 'diplomacy toward major powers’, and argues that US-China trade dispute affects China’s major power diplomacy of Xi government.
