Abstract
Intelligence and policy, namely, intelligence producer and intelligence consumer, should check and balance each other effectively to confront the security threats from other countries or transnational groups. For this reason, intelligence producers are required to maintain both objectivity and efficiency of intelligence that they obtain and analyze. If intelligence producers reflect the intentions of policy decision-makers into their product without verified evidence for it, it is defined as politicization of intelligence. The attack of Iraq by the Bush administration is the case where the intelligence consumer has the concrete policy goals and a strong willingness to pursue them. The U.S. intelligence community as well as policy decision-makers distorts and misuses the intelligence about the Iraq's WMD programs and links to al Qaeda. The politicization of Intelligence becomes a main cause to undermine the credibility of intelligence on the threats of Iraq.
