전의경이 겪는 스트레스 요인에 관한 연구

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to assess the stress level and mental health state of military and auxiliary polices, and to explore the precipitating factors of stress and negative mental health. On the base of those explorations, some implications and suggestions are derived for more sophisticated policy of military and auxiliary police. For this purpose, the investigator visit and survey members of the field police troops who were randomly selected from whole nation. And the survey result was analyzed according to relevant factors. The result was as follows. First, the auxiliary police volunteered according to their needs that auxiliary police could provide more favorable environment for their self improvement and future employment. Second, the major domain of stress is directly connected to their major need for volunteering the police unit. So they may feel greater stress when their police unit can not provide the opportunity for fulfilling their needs. Third, the members of riot police unit, compared to combat unit or security and patrol unit, have more stresses, and are vulnerable to mental health. These findings are connected to other results that members of Seoul region and members of lower academic grade at the policeman training school feel more stress and use more passive adaptive skills such as somatization. These results of the stress factors of auxiliary police have some implications for more sophisticating policy and management strategy for the future.
