Abstract

Park, Soo-Yeon. 2003. A Study on distinguishing homonyms in Korean Learner's Dictionary. Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language, 28, 71～110. The objective of this thesis is to present the principles for Guide Words in Korean Learner's Dictionary to help foreign learners to distinguish homonyms that have the same spellings but different meanings. In this study, the various types and vocabularies of Guide Words listed on dictionaries with Guide Words are analyzed. Here, problems are identified and modifications are proposed. In addition. “Word Association Test” that includes cultural words is applied in the questionnaire for Advanced Korean learners. With the results of the survey, the principles of Guide Words in Korean Learner's Dictionary for foreign learners are proposed. (KyungHee university)
