Abstract
Han, Song-Hwa. 2003. An Analysis of The Textbooks of KLI, Yonsei University. Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language, 28, 331~362. On this note, we analyzed the text books of KLI in pursuit of developing new textbooks for KLI. As the result of analysis, we found out that Korean, the textbook of KLI, is more focused on grammar. Hence it is very effective in increase of accuracy. But it is not proper to grow learners' capability of structuring discourse. In addition, Korean lacks of relationship and dependency between grammars (or patterns). Learners cannot grow the capability of listening, writing and reading by Korean. And the dialogs in Korean is not authentical. Korean is also over-weighted with subjects of Korean traditional culture such as Korean traditional holidays, customs. Therefor new textbook must be designed to overcome current weakness and to provide various supports for learners to achieve their objectives. (Yonsei University)
