한국어 교육에서 시각텍스트 사용의 변천 과정 - 최근 30년 대학기관 초급 교재를 중심으로 -

본고는 최근 약 30년 동안 시각텍스트가 무엇을 위해 어떻게 사용되었는지를 중심으로 한국어 교재를 분석하였다. 구체적으로 시각텍스트 유형, 언어 사용 변화, 단원 구성 방법을 위주로 이를 분석하였다. 연구 결과 시각텍스트 유형 중 그림의 사용 변화가 단원소개 부분에서 감지되었다. 그리고 시각텍스트는 어휘 부분에서만 일부분 사용되다가 최근 문법 교수-학습에서도 사용하게 된 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 단원 구성에 있어서도 일부분에서만 사용되다가 최근에는 전 부분에 걸쳐 활용하게 된 것을 알 수 있었다. 일반적으로 한국어 교육은 어휘 문법 듣기 말하기 읽기 쓰기 등의 분야로 나뉘는데 본고에서는 시각텍스트가 이들의 교수-학습을 위해 어떻게 사용되어왔는지 분석하였다는 데에 의의가 있다.
Abstract
This study analyzed Korean language textbooks focusing on how and for what purpose visual texts have been used over the last 30 years. The analysis centered on types of visual texts, changes in language usage, and methods of composing textbook units. The result of the analysis shows that there were changes in the use of images one of the types of visual texts at the unit introductory section. And visual texts were used only partially in the vocabulary section, but recently they are used also in teaching and learning grammar. Furthermore, the study also found that visual texts were used only in part of the textbook unit composition, but recently they are used in all parts of it. The Korean language education is generally divided into several areas such as vocabulary, grammar, listening, speaking, reading, and writing. This study is meaningful because, in each of these areas, it analyzed how visual texts have been used for teaching and learning.
