영재를 대상으로 한 완벽주의 척도의 타당성 검증: H-MPS, F-MPS, APS-R을 중심으로

초록

본 연구의 목적은 영재를 대상으로 완벽주의 관련 연구를 시행할 때 가장 많이 활용되고 있는 완벽주의 척도 3개(H-MPS, F-MPS, APS-R)를 선정하여 과연 영재들에게 적합한 척도인지 타당도를 검증하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 인천지역 소재 대학부설 과학영재교육원 중학생 180명을 대상으로 문항분석과 확인적 요인분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과, 3개의 측정도구 모두 영재들의 완벽주의를 설명하는데 적합하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 3개의 측정도구 중에서는 APS-R(χ2 = 538.019(df=227, p=.00), TLI=.855, CFI=.870, RMSEA=.087)의 적합도가 다른 측정도구에 비하여 영재들의 완벽주의를 좀 더 설명을 잘 한다고 판단 할 수 있었으며, 영재들을 대상으로 한 연구에서 가장 많이 활용되고 있는 H-MPS 측정도구의 적합도는 3개의 측정도구 중 가장 낮은 적합도(χ2 = 3102.554(df=942, p=.00), TLI=.410, CFI=.439, RMSEA=.113)인 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 기존의 외국에서 대학생들을 대상으로 개발된 완벽주의 척도가 국내의 중학생 영재들의 완벽주의를 측정하는데 부적합함을 시사하고 있으며, 영재들의 특성과 연령, 더 나아가 국내의 사회문화적 맥락을 고려한 완벽주의 척도의 문항개발이 필요함을 제시하고 있다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to verify the validity of three most widely used perfectionism scales (H-MPS, F-MPS, APS-R) for gifted students. For this purpose, 180 middle school students who are attending at the science gifted education center affiliated with university in metropolitan area participated in the study. Item analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were conducted. As a result of the analysis, it was found that all three instruments were not suitable to explain perfectionism of gifted students. Among the three perfectionism scales analyzed, the fitness of APS-R(χ2 = 538.019(df=227, p=.00), TLI=.855, CFI=.870, RMSEA=.087) was relatively higher than other two scales. Interestingly, the fitness of the H-MPS, which is most widely used in the study for the gifted, was found to be the lowest fit (χ2 = 3102.554 (df = 942, p = .00), TLI = .410, CFI = .439, and RMSEA = .113), respectively. Therefore, this study suggests that the perfectionism scale developed for foreign university students might be inadequate to measure the perfectionism of middle school gifted students in Korea. Furthermore, it suggests that the development of perfectionism scale considering the characteristics and age of the gifted and the socio - cultural context of the domestic are needed.
