음악영재들이 경험한 사회적 배려대상 영재교육 프로그램의 의미 탐색

본 연구의 목적은 사회적 배려대상 음악영재 프로그램에 참여한 경험이 있는 음악영재 학생들에 대한 심층적인 면담을 통해 학생들이 인식하고 있는 사회적 배려대상 음악영재교육 프로그램의 교육적 의미는 무엇인지, 이 프로그램을 경험하는 동안 사회적 배려대상 음악영재 학생들의 음악 영재성이 어떻게 발달되는지, 또한 이러한 과정에서 이들이 겪고 있는 어려움은 어떤 것인지 등을 밝히는 것이다. 이를 위해 사회적 배려대상 음악영재 프로그램에 참여한 경험이 있는 3명의 학생들을 대상으로 반구조화된 질문지에 기반하여 실시한 면담 자료를 분석하였다. 설정된 연구 문제를 바탕으로 사례별 분석 결과를 종합하여 내린 결론은 첫째, 사회적 배려대상 음악영재교육 프로그램이 학생들에게 주는 교육적 의미는 다양한 음악적 재능을 계발시키는 프로그램과 전문성 있는 음악교사와의 만남이었다. 둘째, 사회적 배려대상 음악영재 학생들은 해당 프로그램 안에서의 다양한 경험을 통해 인지적 특성과 정의적 특성의 성장을 동반한 음악영재성의 발달이 이루어졌다. 셋째, 사회적 배려대상 음악영재 학생들은 프로그램에 참여하며 각자의 음악적 영재성을 발현시키는 과정에서 행정적 절차상의 문제로 인하여 교육에 참여할 수 없게 되는 등 다양한 어려움을 겪고 있는 것으로 확인되어 이와 관련한 제도적 개선이 필요한 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the meanings of music education programs for gifted students from socio-economically disadvantaged families, the developmental phases of their musical giftedness, and also the difficulties that students experienced while participating in the programs. In order to understand those issues from the view point of participating students, the main research method was the case study on three students, who experienced the programs for years, by intensive interviews with three students, their parents, and also their teachers. The results of this study are as follows: first, the programs gave those students educational meanings that came from a variety of programs and talented teachers, direct and indirect experiences which helped develop the giftedness and the musical skills of underprivileged gifted students. Second, disadvantaged gifted students could initiate the development of their musical talents by self-recognition caused by experiencing various musical programs and professional teachers. Thirdly, disadvantaged gifted students experienced difficulties caused by administrative regulations or procedures.
