노인이 가족에 대해 지각한 사회적 지원의 변화양상과 예측요인

초록

본 연구의 목적은 노인이 가족에 대해 지각한 사회적 지원의 변화궤적을 살펴보고, 이에 영향을 미치는 예측요인들을 규명하는 것이다. 이를 위해 한림대 고령사회연구소의 HAS(Hallym Aging Study) 패널자료를 활용하였으며, 2005년도에 65세 이상 응답자를 포함하여 2007년도와 2009년도조사에 최소 두 번 이상 응답한 노인 1,131명을 분석대상으로 하였다. 분석방법은 시간이 흐름에 따른 변화의 개인 차이들과, 이들 개인 차이들의 예측요인을 규명하기에 적합한 잠재성장모형을 이용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 노인이 가족에 대해 지각한 사회적 지원은 4년 동안 감소하는 양상으로 나타났다. 둘째, 여성이, 학력이 높을수록, 자녀와 동거하는 경우, 배우자가 있고, 자녀수가 많고,우울수준이 낮을수록, 그리고 신체기능장애 수준이 높을수록 가족에 대해 지각한 사회적 지원이 높았다. 셋째, 시간이 경과하면서 소득수준이 낮을수록 가족에 대해 지각한 사회적 지원은 더 빠르게 감소하여 소득수준에 따른 노인집단내 지각한 가족지원의 격차는 더욱 확대되는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한연구결과를 통해 노인의 사회적 지원 강화를 위한 정책적, 실천적 함의를 제시하였다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the trajectories in perceived social support from family of older adults, and to identify its influencing predictive factors. For the analysis of this study, the data came from the panel study of HAS (Hallym Aging Study). 1,131 older adults applied to the research at least twice from 2007 to 2009, including respondents of over 65 years old in 2005. The research method used ‘Latent Growth Curve Model’, which is suitable for identifying the individual differences in the trajectories over time, and the predictive factors of such individual differences. The results showed older adults’ perceived social support from family has decreased. And female older adults, higher level of education, living with children,living with spouse, more number of children, lower level of depression, and with older adults in a higher level of physical function disability were higher level of perceived social support from family. Perceived social support from their family rapidly decreased with elderly on lower incomes. Implications and limitations of this research were discussed.
