본 연구는 한국어 고급 학습자의 논설문을 대상으로 논증 구조 주석(annotation) 말뭉치를 구축하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 한국어 교육 분야에서는 다양한 종류의 말뭉치가 구축되어 연구 및 교육 현장에서 활발히 활용되고 있으나, 학습자의 쓰기 능력 연구에 필요한 ‘논증 주석 말뭉치’가 부재하여 관련 연구를 진행하기에 어려움이 있다. 논증적인 글쓰기는 한국어 고급 학습자의 학업 및 직업 상황과 매우 밀접하게 연관되어 있으며 논증적인 글쓰기의 핵심인 논증 능력을 분석하는 것이 쓰기 능력 분석 연구에서 중요하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 한국어 고급 학습자가 작성한 논설문 344개를 대상으로 한국어 학습자 논증 주석 말뭉치를 구축하였다. 본 연구 결과 6,590개의 논증 요소 주석을 갖는 논증 구조 주석 말뭉치가 구축되었으며 한국어 학습자 논설문의 논증 주석 체계에 대한 지침서도 작성되었다. 본 연구 결과는 향후 한국어 고급 학습자의 논증적 글쓰기 능력 분석 및 피드백을 위한 기초 데이터로 활용될 수 있으며 논증 마이닝을 기반으로 하는 다양한 연구 분야에서도 활용될 수 있다.
Abstract
This study constructs an annotated corpus of argumentation structures based on argumentative essays written by advanced Korean-language learners. Although various types of learner corpora have been developed and actively used in both research and instructional contexts within the field of Korean-language education, the absence of an argument-annotated learner corpus has made it difficult to conduct research necessary for analyzing learners’ writing proficiency. Argumentative writing is closely connected to the academic and professional contexts encountered by advanced Korean learners. Analyzing argumentation, which is the core component of argumentative writing, is essential for research on writing proficiency. To address this need, this study developed an argumentation-annotated corpus using 344 argumentative essays written by advanced Korean learners. The resulting corpus contains 6,590 annotated argument components. We also created a detailed guideline for annotating argumentation structures in essays by Korean learners. This study’s outcomes are expected to serve as foundational data for analyzing and providing feedback on the argumentative writing abilities of advanced Korean learners, as well as to support a wide range of research areas involving argument mining.
