바울 생애 후반기의 연대표

초록

일반적으로 널리 인정되고 있는 사건이나 역사학적 관점에서 확실하게 인정되는 사건을 중심으로 바울 후기 생애의 연대기를 파악하고자 시도하였다. 그 사건은 갈리오의 총독 임기, 페스투스의 부임 연도이었다. 그 결과 얻은 바울 생애의 연대기는 다음과 같다. 바울의 다마스쿠스 회심은 36년에 이루어졌다. 그로부터 10년 뒤인 46년에 1차 선교 여행이 시작되었다. 1차 선교 여행이 끝나고 얼마 되지 않은 시점인 49년에 예루살렘 사도회의가 열렸다. 예루살렘 사도회의가 열리고 몇 달 뒤, 역시 연도로는 49년에 ‘안티오키아 사건’이 발생하였다. ‘안티오키아 사건’ 직후에 시작된 2차 선교 여행은 52년 중반까지 진행되었다. 2차 선교 여행 기간에 코린토에 도착한 것은 50년 여름이었다. 3차 선교 여행은 52년 중반부터 57년 5월까지 이루어졌다. 그 후 바울은 페스투스에게서 재판을 받고, 59년 가을 로마로 출발하였다. 바울은 이듬해 봄에 로마에 도착하여 황제 재판을 받았다. 이후 바울의 행적은 전설로만 전하고 있다.

Abstract

Paul is regarded as the de facto founder of Christianity. Making a chronology of Paul’s life is essential for studying not only Paul but also early Christianity. I have attempted to make a timeline of Paul's life focusing on events that were generally recognized as certain from a historical point of view. These events were the term of the Roman governor Gallio, and the appointment of Festus. As a result, the chronology of Paul's life is as follows. Paul's Damascus experience took place around 36A.D.. Ten years later, the first missionary trip began in 46. The Conference of Apostles in Jerusalem was held in 49A.D. after the first missionary trip. The Antioch Incident took place in 49A.D., not long after the Conference of Apostles in Jerusalem. The second missionary tour began in 49A.D shortly after the Antioch Incident. It was in the summer of 50 A.D. that Paul arrived at Corinth during his second missionary trip. The third missionary tour took place from 52 to 57 A.D., and at the end of this period, Paul visited Jerusalem in 57A.D.. Paul was then tried by Festus and set out for Rome in 59A.D.. Paul arrived in Rome the following spring and was tried by an imperial tribunal.
