소아정신과 영역에서 정신약물학은 그 역사도 짧으며, 아직 초보단계에 있다. 그러나 최근 들어 소아정신과 영역에서의 진단체계분류의 발달 또는 객관적인 평가척도의 개발과 함께 정신약물학의 발달이 급속히 이루어지고 있는 상태이고, 성인에서 발달된 생물학적인 접근법이 소아정신과 영역에도 도입되면서 소아정신약물학의 발달에 더욱 박차를 가하게 되었다. 하지만 지난 수년간의 소아정신약물학의 연구에 질적인 양적인 증가에도 불구하고, 아직까지 소아 청소년의 정신질환 치료에 사용하는 정신활성물질의 효율성, 실질적인 효과, 안정성을 고려함에 알려지지 않은 부분이 많이 남아있고, 현재의 치료방법이 실제로 근거에 바탕을 둔 치료가 되려면 더욱더 많은 연구가 필요하리라고 여겨진다. 매우 어린 아동을 포함하는 이중맹검으로 통제된 연구도 필요할 것이다. 많은 정신장애 치료에 중요한 영역을 차지하는 정신치료를 평가하는 것과 약물학적 연구를 동떨어진 것으로 취급하지 않는 것도 중요하리라고 생각된다.
Abstract
As increasing number of new psychotropics have been being introduced in clinical practices, pharmacological understanding has been broadened. These changes mandate new information and theories to be incorporated into the treatment process of child-adolescent psychiatric disorders. In light of newly coming knowledge, this review intended to recapitulate the adverse effects of psychotropic drugs. There are many psychiatric adverse effects of each drugs that are manifested according to the biological characteristics of the patient across diagnosis. This reflects the lack of biological basis in the current diagnosis system and more research into the still unknown psychotropic effects of each drugs is desired. We should discover clinically significant psychotropic effects currently undefined, guidelines of evidence-based treatment, and predictable factors related to drug adverse effects in the future research.
