이 논문은 이상의 거울 모티프 시들에 내재한 아이러니를 정신분석적 개념의 도움을 받아 주체의 문제와 연관하여 해석한 논문이다. 이 논문은 그동안 이 시들의 해석에 있어 기본적 관점이 되어왔던 ‘주체의 분열’이라는 관점에 전제된 선험적 자아/주체 개념을 수정하고자 하는 목적을 지닌다. 이 논문의 관점에 따르면, 이상의 거울 모티프 시들에 나타나는 주체의 분열상에 대한 자기인식은, 타자로서의 이미지에 대한 ‘나’의 동일시의 실패, 즉 ‘나’와 타자의 변증법을 통해 구성되는 ‘주체의 실패’를 보여준다. 그런데 이러한 ‘정상적 주체’ 구성의 실패는 단지 주체의 실패만을 보여주는 것이 아니라, ‘나’의 동일시의 대상에서 미혹의 대상으로 전락한 이미지의 가치 전락이 경험되면서, 타자로서의 이미지에 내재한 어떤 결여가 무의식적으로 환기되는 것으로 볼 수 있다. 그러므로 변증법의 실패는 주체와 타자 모두의 결여를 환기하며, 그 둘 모두의 실패를 현시한다. 이상의 시에서 이러한 실패의 강박적인 반복은 ‘나’-타자의 변증법적 종합을 통한 주체 구성에 대한 열망을 드러내는 동시에, 거울을 통한 이미지와 실재, ‘나’와 타자의 통합의 실패를 필연적인 것으로 인식하는 시적 주체의 무의식을 보여주는 것으로 해석할 수 있다. 이 논문은 자기 자신과 타자 모두와 불화하는 비동화적 태도의 미적 표지인 이상 시의 시적 아이러니를 이러한 관점으로 해석해 보고자 한다.
Abstract
This article is a trial for understanding the poetic irony of LeeSang focusing on ‘the dialectic of ‘I’-the other’. Especially, this article analyzes his poems that handle mirror to theme. In spite of carrying out a lot of research on accession to the subject about this texts, there are still a matter of grave concern. Most of all, there is an unbrocken major premise in these researches. It is a transcendental ego/subject. These researches interprets the split of the subject in mirror as dissociation of conciousness in the transcendental ego/subject. But we need to look at this problem from the psychoanalysis. From a this point of view, the transcendental ego/subject is a fabrication. Psychoanalysis regards the consciousness as a irremediably limited, and institutes it as a principle, not only of idealization, but of méconnaissance. The mirror in this context is a stage of the identification; namely, the transformation that take place in the subject when he assumes an imago-an image that is seemingly predestined to have an effect at this phase. The image as an imago of the mirror is the other against I. There is the gaze in the field of the reduction of the subject. The gaze I encounter is, not a seen gaze, but a gaze imagined by me in the field of the other. These poems of Lee-Sang show us a failure of the indentification between imago as the other and I, a failure of the subject. That is the poetic irony of these text.
