본 연구는 한국에서 직업을 목적으로 한국어를 학습하는 외국인 대상의 한국문화 교육 현황을 분석하고 그에 따른 개선 방안을 제안한 것이다. 국내 노동력 감소로 외국인 근로자에 대한 수요가 증가함에 따라, 작업 상황에 맞춘 한국어교육 프로그램에 문화 교육을 통합하는 것이 중요해지고 있다. 이 연구에서는 직업 목적 한국어 학습자를 사무직, 전문직, 현장직으로 분류하고 각 유형에 대한 기존의 문화 교육 프로그램과 교재를 분석하였다. 그 결과, 직종별로 특화된 문화 교육 내용이 부족하였고, 체계적이고 장기적인 교육과정이 부족함을 발견할 수 있었다. 이에 맞춤형 교육과정의 개발, 실용적인 교육 자료 제공, 외국인 근로자와 고용주를 위한 상호문화 교육 프로그램 도입 등의 개선 방안을 제안하였다. 본 연구는 외국인 근로자들의 한국 사회 적응을 촉진하고 문화적 갈등을 완화하며 직장 내 효율성 증대를 위해 문화 교육이 필수적임을 강조하였다.
Abstract
This study analyzes the current status of Korean culture education for foreign learners studying Korean for occupational purposes in Korea and proposes corresponding improvement measures. As the demand for foreign workers increases due to the decline in the domestic labor force, integrating cultural education into Korean language programs tailored to workplace situations has become increasingly important. This study categorizes occupational-purpose Korean language learners into three groups—office workers, professionals, and field workers—and examines existing cultural education programs and materials for each category. The findings reveal a lack of job-specific cultural education content and the absence of a systematic and long-term curriculum. To address these issues, the study suggests developing customized curricula, providing practical educational materials, and introducing intercultural education programs for both foreign workers and employers. This research underscores the necessity of cultural education to facilitate foreign workers’ adaptation to Korean society, mitigate cultural conflicts, and enhance workplace efficiency.
