This study dealt with the current employment system of foreign workers in Korea and overseas, the relevance between employment system of foreigners and the Korean language education, and the future direction of the Korean language education system. From the benchmark from foreign countries, the education of local language for the immigrants including foreign workers is not an issue on securing good quality with low cost manpower effectively or adjusting themselves to a new society. Even though the purpose of immigration is different, the immigration cross countries influences the individual person and people who live in the society in the field of politics, economics, culture, language and other wide range of environment. Therefore the employment system of foreign workers has to be considered on the roles and influences of them in Korea society as well as the improvement of work competency for them and the Korean language education has to go the same direction. With this direction, this research suggested the Korean language education phases associated with the process of arrival-working-return or extending period of foreign workers and the direction to multi-culture society by connecting Korean language education program and the employment system.
