노년소설의 문학교육적 의미와 가치 연구 - 황순원의 단편소설을 중심으로 -

Abstract

As growing of elder population becomes social concern, research and interest for Old Age Novels are extended in the literature society. But this change is not only prepared for receiving in literature education, but also conceived for educational necessity. For that reason of critical mind on literature education in the class, this study analysed what Hwang Sun Won’s Old Age Novels have value and significance of contributing for literature education. The term ‘Old Age Novels’ have many phases by author or researcher, it means novel that not only carry on elder’s life or story, but also the elder conducts main protagonist in the work. Specially, Hwang Sun Won is a famous writer who products many Old Age Novels from early time of his life to general and student, he was interested on silver’s life and story. He figured out minutely ambivalence of ‘death and anti-death on human being’, ‘default and enough of own’s life’, ‘sufficiency and frustration on own’s desire’ in his work. The fact that he described elder’s life not social phenomenon or critical viewpoint on reality but with human being about elder’s life is suitable for literature education in schooling. The main objective of literature education in the school is that it teach interpersonal understanding and communication in the society to student through diverse phases of human life. By this dimension and conclusion of this examination Hwang Sun Won’s Old Age Novels have educational meaning and worth on ‘value perception and self reflection on own life’, ‘re-recognition of the image of the elderly’, and ‘understanding and empathy with desire’.
