최인훈의 『화두』 연구

Abstract

This paper is the research for the analysis of 『HWADU』 - a novel written by mr. Choi in-hoon. 『HWADU』 had a great vogue in its day, however, there has not been fundamental research. Moreover, most of the comments on this novel were the absurd interpretation for the structure. This research has been done by the need of serious study for the structure of description. Mr. Choi has expressed his opinion for the artistry for a long time, and this report is to verify the fact that 『HWADU』 is elaborately embodied by artistry. As a condition precedent for the verification, it required the definition of genre for 『HWADU』. at the result, the writer defined 『HWADU』 as 'artist-novel'. According to mr. northrop Frye's classification, the narrator goes to confessor and his confession shows the effort toward the integrated view for the art. Moreover, there and many kinds of writings in this novel and this is considered the main character in artist-novel as a equipment for the integrated view on lots of matters. We can recognize that the equipment is organically related each other and makes the new organization. Followings are the conclusions which was drawn from the discussions based on this point of view.
