Abstract
In this paper, we studied works depicting Zainichi coal mine workers and atomic bombs in modern poetry by Japanese female writers, and considered what purpose the coal mine is described for exposed Koreans by combining “coal mines” and “bombs.” The subject of the study is a work depicting Zainichi coal mine workers and atomic bombs expressed by Japanese female writers Kazue Morizaki, Ishimure Michiko, and Zainichi II writer Park Soo-nam. In what relationship the three writers captured and described the atomic bomb with the Zainichi coal mine worker, and how their ideas and Korean perceptions were formed and embodied, comparing each artist’s works to highlight similarities and differences in literature. It can be seen that these writers connected Zainichi coal miners and exposure to approach and cover their works from the perspective of anti-power, demarcation, and transnational. Listen to the people who were there when the atomic bomb was dropped. The starting point of the atomic bomb literature is to capture the experience in the work. Writers such as Kazue Morizaki urged the dissolution of the exposure myth that the U.S. and Japan had built as an accomplice, and also appealed for the role and ethics of literature and literature in responding to pain, staring at the nature of pain from Zainichi. And above all, it is the gaze toward the perpetrator. It is looking not only at the horrors of the atomic bombing of Koreans in Japan, but also at the root of Japan’s war responsibility, the problem of violence, and the reality of violence. Through these works that capture the hearts of readers with strong messaging, you will be able to find hope to stare at past history and create a century of peace without war.
