Abstract
This paper presents textlinguistic research trends on reading research and research of teaching reading. IRA(international reading research) is famous for reading research and produce periodically many educational papers and studies which are based on the experimental psychologic methodology. This study reviews periodicals of IRA from 1960-2004, and explains relationship between textlinguistics and reading research. In the 1980's, reading research introduced textlinguistics(in the strict sense, text-science) in to its own studies, and described ‘Comprehension’ systematically. And then, meaning of reading comprehension is accepted as constructiong representation of semantic structure by a Reader’s cognitive processes. Today, reading is regarded as holistic activty, and is more studied as socio-cultural perspective likely socialconstructivist. But Text-theoretical Base on Reading Research is continuously important for explanation of reader's text-strategies.
