초록
This study aims to clarify whether <나(자기)를 보다(looking self)>, in addition to <자기(혼자)>, the reflexive pronoun of KSL, functions also as a reflexive pronoun. <자기(혼자)>, meaning “oneself”, is a single noun and functions as a reflexive pronoun referring to the noun-phrase which comes before or after it in a conversation. However, having a complete sentence format, <(나는) 나를 보다> behaves as a reflexive pronoun like a single or complex word. Even though <(나는) 나를 보다> is commonly used among deaf people in everyday conversations as a reflexive pronoun, it hasn’t been officially recognized as a reflexive pronoun. Even Korean Sign Language dictionaries and introductory booklets fail to explain the fact that <(Nanun) Narul Boda> is a reflexive pronoun. It is likely that its reflexive function has been easily overlooked because <(나는) 나를 보다> has a complete sentence format, unlike a single word or a complex word. In conclusion, this study will prove that <(나는) 나를 보다> is another reflexive pronoun in KSL in addition to <Jagi>, through an in-depth investigation of how it functions as a reflexive pronoun.
Abstract

It is likely that its reflexive function has been easily overlooked because <(나는) 나를 보다> has a complete sentence format, unlike a single word or a complex word. In conclusion, this study will prove that <(나는) 나를 보다> is another reflexive pronoun in KSL in addition to <Jagi>, through an in-depth investigation of how it functions as a reflexive pronoun.
