초록

This paper addresses a new methodological approach to measure broadband access of urban residential area. The developed accessibility measure extends a typical potential accessibility measure based on the spatial interaction model by incorporating network performance such as the bandwidth and network topological properties as attractiveness of an opportunity. Moreover we examine the spatial patterns in terms of different operational effects on a potential accessibility measure and then discuss implications, based on an empirical example. The developed accessibility measure is computed using a GIS based computational algorithm.

Abstract

This paper addresses a new methodological approach to measure broadband access of urban residential area. The developed accessibility measure extends a typical potential accessibility measure based on the spatial interaction model by incorporating network performance such as the bandwidth and network topological properties as attractiveness of an opportunity. Moreover we examine the spatial patterns in terms of different operational effects on a potential accessibility measure and then discuss implications, based on an empirical example. The developed accessibility measure is computed using a GIS based computational algorithm.
