본 연구는 우리나라 인구구성이 전형적인 피라미드구조에서 노년인구가 급증하는 종형으로 변해가는 추세를 토대로, 향후 수도권 인구구성의 변화를 파악하는 데 궁극적인 목적이 있다. 특히 노년인구의 변화에 초점을 두어 고령화 사회로 접어든 2000년과 2005년을 기점으로 향후 10년과 20년 후의 수도권 인구를 예측하였다. 소규모지역(시/군/구 단위)의 인구예측을 위해 Hamilton-Perry(HP)기법을 이용하여 전반적인 인구구성의 변화를 파악하였고, 이를 기반으로 노년인구지표인 65세 이상의 노년인구·노령화지수·노인부양비의 공간적 분포패턴을 살펴보았다. 그 결과, 서울의 강북지역과 경기도의 동북부지역을 중심으로 고령화가 빠르게 진행되어 2025년 이후에는 고령사회를 지나 초고령사회로 변화됨을 알 수 있었다.
Abstract
This paper intends to investigate the demographic changes in Seoul metropolitan area of an aging society, based on the changing trends from the primitive type to the bell type. Especially, this study focused on the aging demographic changes in Seoul metropolitan area, to predict the population as of 2015 and 2025, based on the changes from 2000 to 2005, when the aging started. The general demographic changes were examined by the Hamilton-Perry (HP) method to project the population of small scale area, and the spatial distribution, such as aging population over 65 years, aging index, and aging dependency ratio, was examined based on the results. As a result, the aging makes rapid progress, specially in the northern area of the Han river in Seoul and northeastern Gyeonggi province, where it is expected to be a super-aged society in 2025 through an aged society.
