초록

This study aims to analyze the connection structures in the international air network in 1992 and 2004. For this purpose, a revision of the social network analysis model was devised for analyzing of the international networkability of cities and the connectivity of the air routes. The connectivity between subnetworks in the international air network can be calculated by adding up the connectivities between the cities included in each subnetwork. In 1992 and 2004, the first class and second class cities are the core of the international air network, and the first class cities are connected to the second class cities, which serve as hubs in each continent, putting the whole world together into one network. Moreover, the main subnetworks are forming flow patterns, using each continent as their local base. While the European subnetwork occupied a very high position in the 1992 international air network, the Asian subnetwork had a very high position in 2004.
